Tom Alexander
Tom Alexander’s background consists of more than twenty-four years of trading experience. Mr. Alexander’s experience includes institutional trading as well as trading on behalf of large private accounts. He has been a CTA (Commodity Trading Advisor). He is the principal of Alexander Trading LLC, which conducts research and provides analysis and trading education to institutions and private individuals. He is the author of Practical Trading Applications of Market Profile and has been published in several well-known trading magazines, most recently in the December 2009 issue of Technical Analysis of Stock and Commodities.
He has traded through market crashes (1987), financial crises (1998), bull markets (1990's), bear markets (early 2000's, 2007-present) and wars (Gulf and Iraq). He has learned the only constant in the markets is change, and he has been able to successfully adapt his trade methodology to a broad range of market conditions.
Mr. Alexander is an expert in the application of Auction Market Value Theory™ and its visual representation, Market Profile™. He conducts on-going research into the practical trading applications of AMVT. He is regularly quoted in the Wall Street Journal, and by Reuters and Bloomberg.
In addition to his duties with Alexander Trading, Mr. Alexander co-manages a long/short equity hedged funds and trades several private accounts.
